Southern tip of Sagamino Kisen
The Sagamino Baseline, established in northeastern Kanagawa Prefecture, is one of the starting points (baselines) for triangulation in Japan. It is registered as a Japanese Civil Engineering Heritage Site.
明治15年、地形図全国整備計画に基づき設置された相模野基線は、全国5万分の1地形図完成に至る我が国近代測量の発祥地です。神奈川県北東部に設定された、日本の三角測量の基点となる直線（基線）の一つ。北端を高座郡下溝村（現・相模原市南区麻溝台四丁目）の下溝村三角点、南端を高座郡座間入谷村（現・座間市ひばりが丘一丁目）の座間村三角点とし、両地点を結ぶ直線が相模野基線です。日本の土木遺産に登録。

Zama Shrine
Legends say that Zama Shrine got its start after goshinsui (holy water) cured an epidemic. There is a spring under the cliffs on the shrine grounds that has never dried up, and its waters are called the "water of fortune." The view from the shrine grounds has been selected as one of the Eight Views of Zama.
